Our own town

St Marys Church stands at the bottom of The Causeway, beside the River Arun.

The Causeway leads from the town centre to the Church and contains some of the oldest buildings in Horsham, dating back to medieaval times.

The Carfax with its bandstand is the centre of the town.

The layout of the Carfax dates right back to the early horse market that was held by the river crossing. The town's War Memorial is adjacent to the bandstand.

A plaque in the Carfax commemorates the Twinning of Horsham with Lage and St Maixent..
The Carfax often hosts special events and is lit up at Christmas time. The town centre also has a number of hidden passages dating back to ancient times.

Horsham station was relocated from Station Road and rebuilt in the 1930s in Art Deco style typical of the period.

North Street leads away from the town centre towards the station, beside Horsham Park with the swimming and leisure centre Pavilions in the Park.

Horsham sits in the River Arun valley, and soon dissappears from view as you leave the town centre.

Horsham is surrounded by a rural landscape - particularly beautiful in the autumn time.
