DECEMBER 2023
After several months of discussions with the Twinning Association, we are pleased that Horsham District Council have added our twin towns to their large signs at the entry points to Horsham. Along with many other towns in West Sussex and throughout the country, it is good that we can be proud of our links with our friends in France and Germany. Horsham Town Sign

DECEMBER 2022
After the removal of the Shelley Fountain from the junction of West Street and Bishopric some years ago, a new permanent, public monument to Horshams romantic and radical poet are being developed. The new memorial will be placed in the centre of Horsham Park, near the pond. A brief has been produced and artists have been asked to submit their designs by 31st January 2023. The brief has been released by the Shelley Memorial Project, a community group based in Horsham. The town is most associated with Shelley's birth and early life. A key objective is to celebrate and commemorate the life and work of the poet and his connection with our town. (Full story)

SEPTEMBER 2022
A new Youth Centre has opened in Horsham, called the Hurst Cafe. This is in the former Hurst Road Youth centre, close to the town and park, and is a collaboration between 4theYouth and Horsham District Council. The cafe has social areas with games and activities, as well as a pool table and electronic game consoles. The cafe serves hot and cold drinks and some snacks. Youth workers are always available to give advice and support if needed. (Full Story)

FEBRUARY 2021
Horsham District Council has released revised plans for the development at the Rookwood golf course site. Following the public consultation, the housing will cover approximately one third of the land area, and be focussed south of Warnham Road. The development will include upto 300 affordable homes within a garden setting and provide expansive green corridors protecting and enhancing Boldings Brook and Red River. The northern section of the site could see a new gateway provided, a new visitor centre, cafe and car park for Warnham Nature reserve and increased access to land in this area, which is currently used by the golf course. This revised plan will be submitted for inclusion in the next Local Plan for Horsham District.

JANUARY 2021
Fast food chain KFC, which currently has an outlet in the Bishopric, has announced plans to look for a site for a drive-through takeaway in Horsham.
